ACTIVITY-BASED LEARNING

As in the teaching-learning process, the emphasis is now given to a child-centered approach so teachers should be aware of the various techniques that can be used in the classrooms to make teaching-learning possible with hands-on activities. This training was conducted by Mr. John Nogueira (Resource person from Orient Blackswan Books)

STUDENTS’ BEHAVIOR MANAGEMENT

Behavior management is vitally important within the classroom. It is not just about punishing unwanted behavior or even rewarding desired behavior. Rather it is about having strategies in place to support children to behave in ways that help them gain the most from their schooling. To have a perfect environment in the classroom or to tackle students who need special attention 4 training sessions on 4 Saturdays were done by Ms. Charu Dholakiya (Psychologist).

ENGLISH GRAMMAR (subject-specific)

To have the perfect teaching techniques in English Grammar, an expert conducted a workshop for all English teachers. It was taken up by Aliasgar A. Doctor (Resource Person from McMillan). Teachers got excellent insights from him and were able to implement many new things in their classes that made learning English Grammar interesting for students.

JOY WITH MATHEMATICS

The workshop was conducted for Teachers by Hiral Patel ( Senior Teacher )

to guide them about how can Mathematics be recreational. Senior teachers of Mathematics demonstrated different activities through which different concepts of math can be introduced and explained in a fun way. Something different to do on a day when students need that extra interest creation for the subject.  How Puzzles, games, optical illusions, videos, brainteasers, origami, etc. help to retain curiosities and pastimes of non-trivial Mathematical interest.

FUN WITH ENGLISH & ENGAGING STUDENTS

A training session for all teachers was taken by Primary English HOD and a teacher demonstrating different activities and games that can be taken during the proxy periods which would help students in developing their concentration and logical reasoning and also help them to improve their English language skills.

COMMON MISTAKES (that can be rectified in students)

A training workshop session was taken by senior Hindi and Gujarati teachers for the teachers of grades 1 to 5. The topics covered were the most common mistakes made by students during the writing of these languages and how the teachers can work to rectify them. Also, the innovative methodologies to be followed for teaching literature and grammar concepts were taught.

HINDI & GUJARATI MADE EASY

The resource person from Madhuban publications took the training for Hindi and Gujarati teachers which included the use of technology for teaching these languages. Also how different traditional games can be used for gaining interest of students in these subjects was demonstrated.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS AND BEHAVIOURAL MANAGEMENT

For teachers good communication skills hold a pivotal place in their daily working routine. Looking at the same an entire day training workshop was organized by the school management for the entire staff. The workshop was conducted by experts from the AMA training institute.

Topics covered in the workshop included:

* Importance of empathy for building strong and sustainable relationships

* Managing difficult conversations at the workplace

* Significance of communication in remote & hybrid work environments

* Receiving and giving constructive feedback

* Managing time and stress

* Motivating self and others

* Recognizing behavior patterns.

PORTAL TRAINING

The school ERP system enables institutes to automate and simplify all regular activities such as curriculum management, attendance records, administrative tasks, and information handling and fosters smooth parent-teacher communication.

With the same Objective Som Lalit School got ERP software developed as per its requirements.

To provide teachers with ERP working and operational methods, an orientation program on the same was conducted by an ERP team engineer.

 

 

FIRST AID INSTRUCTIONS

Any emergency can occur in a classroom, on the playground, at an assembly, during lunch, or during an outing, so teachers and administrative personnel need to be prepared to manage these situations and know how to handle them. On December 10, a 2.5 hours first-aid training session was held in the school to equip the school staff with the knowledge and abilities necessary to handle a first-aid emergency until a medical professional arrive. Accident/Incident Management, Unconscious Adult/Infant, Adult/Infant CPR, Bleeding, and other topics were covered in the workshop.

Professionals from the Indian Red Cross Society led this program, and they used their active learning style to make it incredibly participatory and educational.

Curriculum workshop by VPs

Curriculum workshops are conducted by vice principals and are a year-long ongoing process. These workshops are conducted with common subject teachers and help teachers to continuously improve their skills and teaching methods.  Depending on the observations done and the feedback received by parents/students, teachers are guided and given a chance to self reflect.

HAPPY CLASSROOM

Training on Happy Classrooms was conducted by Bhawana Upadhyay(VP). She had attended the training conducted by CBSE at Vadodara as a prospective resource person. She shared her learnings and guided other school teachers on how the environment of a class should be to make it happy, an activity-based workshop with a lot of motivational anecdotes was taken to inspire educators.

LEARNING OUTCOME & PEDAGOGIES

This program was conducted by CBSE resource persons. And was conducted exclusively for school teachers on 3rd April 2023. The workshop lasted from morning 9:00 AM till evening 5:00 PM. It was an excellent learning experience for teachers and had a lot of takeaways for teachers to understand the real meaning of learning outcomes. The workshop was very interactive and teachers had a chance to share their ideas and creativity with all.

EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING

This training was conducted with the motive to maximize the implementation of hands-on experience in the classroom so that children can learn by doing. Experiential learning has been given a lot of weightage these days and its importance was made to understand to all educators as it is a key to developing 21st-century skills amongst students.

ORIENTATION PROGRAM

At the beginning of the academic year, it’s important that the entire staff gets acquainted with each other and also with the various policies of the school. It’s mandatory for the entire staff to religiously follow the school’s rules and regulations that are made for the well-being of the students and for the welfare of the staff.

TEAM BUILDING WORKSHOP

Team building is a vital part of any organization to grow. It helps to improve its culture. When employees communicate and collaborate, it improves their performance, helps resolve conflicts, and enhances respect for each other. To promote team spirit among employees’ a team building workshop was conducted in school by Ms. Renu Jani (recognized trainer).
